All People Helping People programs are managed by volunteers and governed by the organization's Board of Directors. Most volunteers support PHP programs, logistical needs, or administrative functions for 2 to 5 hours per week and there is a need for a variety of skills and interests.
If you would like to volunteer with People Helping People there are a few ways to get started.
The most helpful first step is to complete our Talent Survey. This gives you a chance to tell us about your interests, availability, and background.
Your completed survey will be routed to the appropriate person within PHP. After they have followed up with you and matched your interests, skills, and availability with one of our opportunities, the next step is to complete the Volunteer Application.
The Volunteer Application allows us to make sure (1) we have your most up to date contact information, (2) you have identified an emergency contact, (3) you have had the opportunity so share any medical conditions that may require consideration/planning for you and PHP, and (4) your role in the organization has been clearly identified.

Certain volunteers are subject to a complete background check by an FCRA compliant Consumer Reporting Agency. This applies to a very limited number of volunteers who, due to the nature of the volunteer duties they perform, are afforded certain employee protections under the law, and, therefore must be screened as the law requires for employees. In some cases, driving records may be required. For a copy of the background check disclosure and authorization form, please click here.
